Steps for Licensing Doctors to Work in the UAE

The UAE is considered one of the most attractive professional destinations for doctors in the region, due to its advanced healthcare system and the wide range of career opportunities available.

However, working in the UAE requires obtaining a medical license from the relevant health authorities.

First: Certificate Verification (DataFlow)
The DataFlow Verification process is the first step in medical licensing procedures.
It aims to verify:
• Academic qualifications
• Professional experience
• Previous licenses

This process ensures the accuracy and authenticity of the information provided by the doctor.

Second: Prometric Exam
After completing the DataFlow process, the doctor must pass the Prometric exam.
This exam assesses the doctor’s medical knowledge and professional skills and is a key requirement for obtaining a license.

Third: Applying for the License
After passing the exam, the doctor can apply for a license from the relevant health authority, such as:
• DOH – Abu Dhabi
• DHA – Dubai
• MOH – Northern Emirates

Fourth: Obtaining a Job Offer
In some cases, a doctor may need a job offer from a medical facility within the UAE before the final license is issued.

At AIMS, we provide comprehensive services to support doctors through all stages of the medical licensing process in the UAE.
